Nic, Michael and I did manage to get away for a glorious few days camping with the boys and the older kids at Womboyn Lake (about 3 hours south). With five dads, three boats and 17 home grown and imported kids the scene was set for an epic fishing, surfing and camping week and we delivered on every front. The people at the camp ground loved us (and especially our kids). Nic and his cousin Mick had a ball. Nic scored his best ever fish, a 51cm flathead, which we promptly released through a mishap with the holding net but not before we got photographic proof of his achievement. Fish weren’t the only wildlife that was abundant. The campground abounded with goannas, kangaroos, assorted parrots, possums and the occasional black snake. Once we figured out what not to leave out when we left the site or went to bed (the night before we left) things got a little easier and the visitors had to forage for food elsewhere.
