Visitors and Family

Once again we had visitors from all around the country and all around the world. The most frequent visitor of all was Grandma who now lives next door in David & Mi’s granny flat. This has been priceless for Nic, Ella and Jordan as they now have access to all their living grandparents all year round. Ella is particularly fond of visiting Grandma to play cards, learn to knit or just to have a girls’ chat. Grandma, when she’s not away on a trip, often has visitors so we’ve met quite a number of her friends from her extensive travels. Grandma (Doff) is still going remarkably well at 82. She took up aqua aerobics at the start of the year to keep herself fit; it must have worked as she is still travelling to all corners of the country as well at the US.

Baba & Dedo are still keeping very busy. Dedo acted as Nic’s sponsor for his Confirmation this year. They, too, have numerous visitors all year round. They are also busily involved with the Croatian Club in Malua Bay, Church and their gradens. In their spare time they come and tidy up our gardens. I’ve given up trying to compete in the vegetable garden competition as it’s mostly Dedo’s green thumb that deserves all the credit. The only thing I can take some credit for is a rampant raspberry patch that has produced some lovely fruit. Our mandarins were decimated by the cockies, while the king parrots discovered our bananas and took to nibbling the ends of them before I got the chance to cover them with banana bags. We’ve had a good season as far as rain is concerned, our tank and dam are full and everything looks lovely and green.

I’ve tried to post as many photos of visitors as I can. If yours is not there then we were probably having too good a time and didn’t manage to get the camera out or I’ve managed to lose yet another set of photos. (Sorry, Mar.)
