Welcome to the Wonderful World of Disney

21st December
The Disney experience has been very memorable for a number of reasons. The rides and attractions are all first rate, very authentic and very clean. According to one site 10 000 staff are employed at peak season! We were naively hoping that the winter weather might keep some people away and that others would choose to spend time with family only to find that everyone belongs to the Disney family. The crowds were so abundant that you could have made two Cecil B. de Mille epics, with leftovers!

Our first day coincided with the first day of the winter break and everything was jam packed by 10:00 am. Waiting times at many rides were over an hour and a half but we utilised the fast pass system and saw other attractions before slipping into the very short queue. A great system.

During one of these times we fronted up for the Star Wars show and one of the Jedi Masters saw the light sabre wielding potential in Jordan (it must have been from all his mini golf) and selected him for Padawan training. After the fast tracked training which included some fancy sword work and what looked like a new dance step Jordan was ready. He dueled the dreaded Darth Vadar to earn his stripes and gain the envy of all of the newly promoted Year 1 boys at St Bernard's school in Batemans Bay. But for all his Jedi training he was still no match for some of the action packed rides. The Honey I Shrunk the Audience 4D experience unsettled his Padawan resolve and he became somewhat gun shy thereafter. Nic, Ella and I went down Splash Mountain where Nic and Ella were either thrilled or distraught in equal proportions.
